Boy Scouts of America Sugar Hill United Methodist Church is the chartered organization for a full Scouting program from Cub Scouts through Boy Scouts.   Sugar Hill UMC is proud to sponsor Cub Scout Pack 8 with Dens of Tiger Cub (1st Grade) Wolf (2nd Grade) Bear (3rd Grade) and Webelos (4th and 5th Grade). Den meetings are on Monday nights starting at 5:45 p.m.  The Pack meetings are on the last Monday of each month.  The Pack takes a summer break and does not meet during the months of June, July and August.  Our Pack is very active and participates in various activities throughout the year such as Scouting for Food, Pinewood Derby, Raingutter Regatta, Scout-O-Rama, Scout Sunday and our Blue Gold Banquet. Sugar Hill UMC is proud to sponsor Boy Scout Troop 8 for youth age 11 through 18.  Troop meetings are on Monday nights from 7:00 p.m. until 8:15 p.m.  The Troop attends Summer Camp at Camp Pioneer in June and will take a summer break during the months of July and August.  Our Troop is very active and participates in various activities throughout the year such as: Scouting for Food, Lake Wright Patman cleanup, Scout-O-Rama and Scout Sunday.  We also go camping on a monthly basis.  Recent trips include Mt. Nebo, Petit Jean Mountain, Vicksburg MS. DeGray State Park Eagle Et Cetra weekend, as well as day trips to Little Rock to visit all three capitals, The Clinton Presidential Library, McArthur Park and a hike over “The Big Dam Bridge” which is the longest pedestrian bridge over water in the world.
